Get ready for tax time with electronic W-2, IRS PIN
Tax time is quickly approaching and your W-2 will be available shortly, if you choose to receive it electronically through myUFL.
Simply go to My Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > W-2/W-2c Consent to sign up. Consent is confirmed via email and provides active employees with several benefits:
- The Electronic W-2 is available earlier than the printed forms, which are typically mailed on Jan. 31.
- You may access your previous W-2s dating back as far as 2005.
Your one-time consent remains active until you withdraw it or terminate employment. Inactive employees will have their W-2s mailed to them.
Please keep your mailing address current in the UF Directory, accessed by going to My Account > Update My Directory Profile. Former employees may update their mailing addresses with Human Resource Services using a change request form.
Also, remember that you can sign up for an IRS PIN number to help you prevent becoming a victim of tax fraud. The PIN is a six-digit number that must be used on the tax return, in addition to the Social Security number, to verify your identity. Once you opt into this program, you must use the PIN for all future filings.
To take advantage of this program visit www.irs.gov/getanippin to register and create an account. Once your taxpayer identity is verified a PIN will be issued.
