Celebrating Linda Orfield’s career and retirement

This spring, after nearly 20 years of service at UF, Linda Orfield retired as associate controller for University Payroll and Tax Services. Finance and Accounting held a celebration for Orfield in April at UF’s East Campus.

Orfield, a UF alumna, has been a Florida CPA since 1980. Her professional work experience includes two years in the Division of Finance and Accounting at UF in the 1980s, a decade in the private sector and eight years in public accounting. She returned to UF in 2002 to join UF Bridges (now Enterprise Systems), where she worked on the original PeopleSoft HR/Payroll implementation. Orfield transferred to University Payroll and Tax Services in 2004.

“Linda is one of the most caring and compliant people I have worked with,” said Senior Associate Controller Brad Bennett. “She truly cares about everyone she comes in contact with. She is extremely knowledgeable in her profession and utilized those skills to make the university a wonderful place to work.”
