Phase two of Job Shadowing program a success

Earlier this year, Finance & Accounting’s Job Shadowing program opened up to all employees of the CFO Division, allowing participants to pursue cross-departmental job shadowing opportunities across Finance & Accounting, Procurement Services and the Budget Office.

Phase two has provided opportunities for CFO Division staff to gain a broader view of how other areas impact their work. For example, Procurement agent Irina Ivanova shadowed Tax Services Director Brian Kuhl.

“Job shadowing within Tax Services was relevant to my work due to the questions I come across frequently in my area,” said Ivanova. “Gaining more advanced knowledge about the subject was extremely useful to me.”

An OnBase application for the program is currently in testing in preparation for the rolling out of phase three in late spring/early summer 2020.

“The program keeps growing!” said accountant Emily Moran, of Finance & Accounting. “We love to see the interest everyone in the CFO Division has in broadening their knowledge and learning from their peers.”
