Directive Statement

The University of Florida is not liable for payment of State of Florida sales tax.  Departments should obtain the Certificate of Exemption and ensure State of Florida sales tax is not included on invoices.

The University is liable for sales taxes on purchases made and used out of state.

Reason for Directive

To ensure departments understand the sales tax liabilities of the University of Florida.

Who must comply?

All University Departments.
